The city of Kassel grew up around baroque palace with garden and two baroque city squares. The body of the city fills space with streets and buildings, working and sleeping places. Project’s area is cut from that body with streets with very heavy car movement. Buildings divide space into two different kinds: first space of street with moving people and shops and second space of backyards and parking. A city consist of places. Every place has its own story. Kassel needs these stories to improve its ‘citiness’. Trees at the parking place were seeded by Joseph Beyus during an action ‘7000 oaks’. This is a small story which brings quality into project’s area. Simple urban working schema is also a quality of the place. My addition to that environment is only a piece of surface cut from the rest with difference in paving. A defined surface. A place of abilities. Those abilities are given by multifunctional hall hidden under the surface and of course by people who will come there … GO TO OTHER PROJECTS |
